Our hostel is ideally suited for group tours, school trips, graduation trips and city breaks.

Our WESTEND CITY HOSTEL is the most centrally located international youth hostel right in the center of Vienna for reasonable prices. Our prime location in the old town of Vienna, close to the Westbahnhof (western railway station) and Innere Mariahilfer Straße (pedestrian street and the largest shopping boulevard in town) enables you to get to most historical sights, Museums, restaurants, theaters on foot or by public transportation in no time!
To Museumsquartier (Museum of Fine Arts, Natural History Museum) 15 minutes walking distance. To Technical Museum in 5 minutes by tram Nr. 52 or 58, To Stephansplatz in 5 minutes with the Metro U3 or 30 minutes walking distance through a nice shopping boulevard; to the Schoenbrunn castle (Zoo) 10 minutes by tram Nr. 58; to Prater 15 minutes with Metro U3 and U1; to Vienna Central train station (Belvedere castle) 13 minutes by tram Nr. 18.
WE HAVE NO CURFEW AND THE RECEPTION IS OPEN 24 HOURS!
All rooms are equipped with bunk beds, lockers, shower and WC.
Check in time is 3:00 p.m.
Please let us know in writing at least one week before arrival whether you need a luggage room. On the day of departure If available, we will keep a room free of charge for you ; after 1 p.m. an 8-bed room price will be charged.
Our prices are per person and night (from 20 people including breakfast).
For a stay of only 1 night, we charge a cleaning fee of EUR 2, – per person for cleaning the bed linen in multi-bed rooms.
You can rent towels for 6.00 EUR / piece (of which a deposit of 3 EUR) (while stocks last), otherwise please take them with you.
Padlock for lockers for sale: EUR 5.50 / piece (while stocks last), otherwise please take it with you.
On request, we also offer half board or daily dishes, which are served in a restaurant nearby.
On request and availability we also offer a packed lunch.
Terms of business Westend City Hostel for GROUP BOOKINGS of more than 9 persons:
Cancellation terms for groups of more than 9 people:
Part or full cancellation must be in written form and may arrive us AT LEAST 3 months before arrival. If the deadline was not kept the cancellation fee is to be paid per person for all ordered services as listed: at least 3 months before arrival: Free of charge, 40% by 3-1 month, 70% by 1 month- 1 week, 90% within the last week, 100% of the total price on the date of arrival.
For groups of 55 or more people (or invoices from 3000, – €) there are special cancellation conditions:
From 180th to 90th day before arrival 50% of the agreed fee (invoice amount), from 90th to 30th day before arrival 70%, from 29th to 4th day before arrival 90% and from the 3rd day before arrival 100% of the total invoice amount.
Cancellation fee:
Cancellation fees are payable if the cancellation deadline has not been met in writing or if there is a reduction between the number of registered and traveled guests.
Since we calculate our room prices per bed, we charge the full price for each bed that results from changing the number of people. In this case there is a change in the room category.
Free cancellation due to Corona or in case of pandemic under the following conditions:
- Official travel warning
- Official order from federal/state authorities not to travel
- Ban on accommodation
- Prohibition of accommodation when arriving from a risk area
- Officially ordered quarantine of the travel group
Travel Insurance:
For our guests, we offer a special discounted travel cancellation insurance policy with Europäische Reiseversicherung, which offers the following coverage at Covid-19:

Please note that the hotel cancellation products can be taken out online for a maximum of 10 persons.
The following procedure is accepted by the insurance company:
One person (= policyholder) takes out a policy – with the total travel price of all persons – online.
The policyholder enters the first 10 names of the insured persons online and takes out the policy by paying the premium.
After conclusion of the policy, we kindly ask you to send an e-mail to vu@europaeische.at and to provide us with the following data:
– Policy number
– Notification of the names of the insured persons who could not be entered online
Please notice: for Eastern, Whitsuntide, and Sylvester we can only accept reservations with at least 3 overnight accommodations!
Liability of the guest
In the case of damages caused by the guest, the compensation law regulations apply. As a result the guest is liable for all damage and disadvantage suffered by the accommodation provider or third parties due to his/her fault or fault of his/her companion or other persons for whom he is responsible and even when the injured party is entitled to claim compensation directly from the accommodation provider. Westend City Hostel has the right to charge your credit card for the outstanding amount and damages. Liability for damages has to be taken by the person having caused the damage or his/her parents or-in the case of groups-the person /authority having carried out the reservation.
Liability of Westend City Hostel
A hostel (like a school) is not a suitable place to take valuable items with you. Such items are taken at your own risk. The hostel cannot accept any liability for lost objects.
The parties agree that the hostel is not liable for theft and damage to property brought into the publicly accessible rooms or rented rooms of the hostel by customers or visitors.
Caution:
Westend City Hostel is entitled to take up to 200, – EUR, or 10% of the invoice amount, as a deposit on arrival, which will be returned after final inspection of the rooms for cleanliness.
The Austrian hotel terms and conditions (AGBH) of the 15.11.2006 are valid as far as nothing else agreed.
